We follow municipal decisions, environmental assessments, permits and announcements for every data-centre project in Finland, every day. This page is the public part: which sites exist, who owns them, what stage they are at and where our housing is. Contractors are not named until we work with them.

The big picture, dated

On 9 September 2026 Google announced a 13 billion € investment in Finland over two years (Google Cloud press release). In Muhos the environmental impact assessment programme (16 September 2025) covers a data-centre area of 571 ha with 9 buildings. On 21 September 2026 the municipality of Muhos invited businesses to an event on 8 October 2026, 17:00–19:00, on expanding worker accommodation (muhos.fi).

For a worker this means two things: the mechanical and electrical phase — electricians, pipefitters, welders, HVAC, sprinkler and insulation trades — runs for years on several sites at once, and housing near the northern sites is scarce. Our own housing for up to 400 people is near Kajaani and Kuhmo, with our own transport to site.

Peak periods are estimates unless a source is given; where a schedule or headcount has not been published, the cell says so. We do not name contractors. This page is not a list of vacancies. How to read this table

Stage tells you how far a site is from needing your trade: assessment and permitting come first, then shell works, then the long mechanical and electrical phase, then commissioning. Peak is the period when the most people are on site — the best time to be in the pool with documents ready. Housing shows where you would live; Travel shows where the site is and how you get there daily.

Every row carries the date of the fact it is based on. When a site moves, the row changes. We send a short monthly update on sites and vacancies to everyone in the pool who asked for it.
